Missouri Bust Dogs Need Your Help

Are You Ready to be a Part of Big Things?
We've been so busy these days but our volunteers are really helping to kick things into high gear!

If you haven't heard yet, the largest fight bust in US history took place a few days after Independence Day and if we're going to help rescue any of these dogs, we're going to need your help!

HSMO Needs Donations for 400+ Bust Dogs
The Humane Society of Missouri is holding the majority of the dogs seized from a multi-state fight bust in a secure, temporary holding facility. As you know, our bullies are power chewers and very needy dogs. The HSMO needs help with donations to keep these dogs taken care of while in their care. Items they can use are:

• Black Kongs, Nylabones, or other hard plastic toys
• Blankets, sheets, dog beds and fans to help keep them cool in the building
• Monetary donations to purchase food, toys, and provide needed vet care

Visit HSMO's Site to Donate!

If you know you can't possibly foster one of these dogs, donating towards their care is the next best thing!

Be a Part of Pit Bull History!
New Hope has been in contact with HSMO and if we are going to help these dogs, we're going to need some special individuals to step up and become a foster home! If you think you'll be ready and prepared to make a difference in the life of one of these dogs, please fill out our foster application so we can get you approved and when they begin releasing the dogs to rescues, we can get them moved quickly!

Scars on the outside have no bearing to the heart of the dog on the inside. True beauty comes from within, the scars just show where they have been.

Did You Know?
New Hope has a number of dogs in our program that bear scars that would cause many people to label them as ‘fight dogs’. We’ve rescued dogs from shelters that have been labeled as ‘bait dogs’. It is quite possible that some of our dogs come from a history of being fought or ‘matched’ as some people call it, however we are not here to speculate on our dog’s pasts. Really, does it even matter? We evaluate dogs based on their temperaments and personalities and not their physical appearance. It is also important to note that even though a dog may have come off of a ‘fight yard’ or might have been picked up near fight bust property, it does not mean necessarily that the dog has been fought.

The best thing about these dogs, even the ones that come from fight busts, is that they can leave their pasts behind them and are more than willing and able to live in a home as a member of a beloved family. Many bust dogs are now CGC certified breed ambassadors and some are even therapy dogs with very important jobs! Take a look at some of these wonderful dogs and read what OurPack has to say about ‘Fighting Dogs’ and living with bust dogs, and then please consider helping us give more dogs like this a chance.

Almost everyone who has anything to do with Pit Bulls knows who Leo is! Leo was confiscated from the property of NFL Quarterback Michael Vick.

Want to see more bust dogs that OurPack has rescued and sent on to be breed ambassadors and therapy dogs? How about:

Zoe: Therapy dog, lives with 2 Labs.

Charlotte: Therapy dog, lives with a Pit Bull

Violet (now Olive): Lives with 2 dogs and 2 children.

Thank you! I really enjoy reading about Leo and the other dogs y'all have helped and any chance I get, I will share their stories. :-) We've had a pretty good reception to our 'call for action' with this blog on facebook. Even tho most folks are from out of our area, we encourage them to contact their local rescues to foster - even if it's not one of the bust dogs, there are still others who need help.
